New variant: I need your help!
I see. So, you do have trouble understanding the pieces.
What is the Queen Agreshin? Are you talking about the Pheonix-Empress?
Queen Aggregation is when your Qilin (麟) lands on the same square as your Immortal Priest (山), or vice versa, to become a Phoenix-Empress (凰). This is "combining" your two pieces to receive a more powerful piece.
The Qilin (麟) and Immortal Priests (山) aren't the only two pieces that may "combine" to get the Pheonix-Empress (凰). All valid "combinations" to get the Phoenix-Empress are the
- Qilin (麟) and Immortal Priest (山)
- Rook (車) and Immortal Priest (山)
- Dragon (龍,龖,龘,𪚥) and Immortal Priest (山)
- Dragon (龍,龖,龘,𪚥) and Qilin (麟)
Is there anything else you feel needs to be clarified?
With that being said, can we please continue this testrun? The game can really benefit with your contribution! ![]()
Actually it is not a Chess variant but a Xiangqi variant.
Nevertheless, it is very interesting.
I invite you to create or encourage the creation of specialized materials on your variant, such as:
print books, electronic books, software and websites.
I do call it a Xiangqi variant. =) (Sometimes, people forget that Xiangqi is not a variant: it's a completely separate standard chess game from western FIDE Chess! Nevertheless, people continue to call it a variant, which I've always regarded as a bit of an insult to its title; if people don't refer to FIDE as a variant, they shouldn't do it with Xiangqi, either.)
Before I get to production, I need to finish the logistics. But, thanks for the encouragement.
One day. ![]()
Trample capturing is pretty confusing, now that I have went back to review the rules; and how I wrote it.
This is how Trample Capture works. As the Mammoth-Mastodon piece (猛, 獁) moves by sliding diagonally (though skipping every odd intersection-point and landing on every even intersection-point), it does get blocked by obstructing pieces as a slider. However, If the Mammoth-Mastodon sees a target enemy piece (meaning, an enemy piece that stands on an intersection-point that the Mammoth-M. can capture), and one or two other enemy pieces stand inbetween that target enemy piece and the Mammoth-M., the Mammoth-M. may capture the target enemy piece, and, as a result, it will also capture those 1 or 2 intervening enemy pieces as well; the 1 or 2 intervening pieces are 'trampled' (踩) by the Mammoth-M.
Examples of how Trample-Capture works -
Hope that makes better sense.
Version 2b of Chengfulohng Kei is ready!

I want to thank Dax00 profusely once again for his/her contributions to making Version 2! His/her credits include -
- Helping make the Terracotta piece, as power of movement and capture were based heavily on his/her suggestion on how the Mammoth-Mastodon should move, which slide as much as 3 squares to move, leaps 2 or 4 diagonal squares to capture. (Note - V2 Mammoth-Mastodon does not move like this^^.)
- Helping develop the rules of the Dragon; particularly Dragon-strength to be determined by which rank its Egg was Hatched
- Helping create the Imperial Borders, as final Borders of V2 resembles much of what he/she suggested, which is the c-k files of the back five ranks. (Note - V2 Imperial Borders are not exactly this.)
Dax00, I hope I get the pleasure to have you in another testrun again!
Sample game position ^-^
Hi
where can we find the rules of your game?
the google drive shared file is no longer available.
best regards

Oh, dear! This entire time, the document has been expired! No wonder why no more activity has been seen in this thread; not from Handsomedesert nor anyone else....
When I get back on my laptop, which should be in a few hours, I'll fix this.
Musketeer2017, I'm sorry if you've been waiting a long time for the update. I didn't get around to it for one major reason: I'm now actually working on Version 2c.
(Namely, Dax00 has a point that a I eventually came to somewhat agree with: more turns should past before a Dragon is allowed to be hatched! In the 2c update, I'm requiring at least 1 more opponent's turn to past before an Egg is eligible for transformation. Also, I'm trying to make the game easier to learn, at least by a slight; I'm updating the powers of the pieces, so that they all are a bit more similar to each other.)
With that being said, don't even worry about the google doc above. In a few days. I will start a new thread to request testrunners for v2c. =)
Thanks for the thought, all the same, though.
