proposal: 30 second pre-game in chess960 for board study

I propose that live chess960 games include a 30 second countdown before the timer starts.   Neither player can move during the 30 seconds, and the game clock doesn't begin counting down.

This would give both players a chance to study the opening position without time penalty.  As it is now, white needs to use clock time to study the board, during which black can do the same without time penalty.   Additionally, if white spends too much time studying the opening position, the game aborts.  So white is forced ro make a first move under strict time constraints.

Comments?

I would just suggest a longer abort timer for 960. Anything else is effectively the same thing as adding an extra 30 seconds to the clock.

That would help a lot. Either way.
I suppose forcing players to assess the position on white's time is a form of time odds which reduces white's advantage, so maybe that's a good thing.
