It's a real badge. I have it. I was playing a game where I trapped my opponent's bishop in the opening and he just resigned instead of biting the bullet, and it counted.

And you don't get the badge for someone resigning to you it happens only when someone checkmates their opponent with your AND your opponents pieces left on the board. Anyway, I think this award is for fools to try getting
