It looks like I have overestimated the number of people that are going to join. The new system would involve a tournament of 12 people play in a 4-round swiss, in which three single-elimination brackets are made for four players each depending on standings. The top bracket (top 4 players) winner would be the winner of this tournament, and the winners of the 2nd and 3rd bracket would be 2nd to 3rd place. If this system is too complicated, I will explain it during the tournament.

Edit: Lol, I couldn't wait to get this tournament started, so I posted pairings early. Negotiate here while I post the results thread.

Unfortunately, the tournament already started. However, you could follow this tournament, which is the next best thing to playing on this tournament

Really you just have to wait until round 1 started, and then peek at the pairing and negotiations, which are both on this thread.

I want to make sure everyone is active on chess.com and aware that the tournament exists. Thank you for the comment, and we only need 2-3 more comments from different people.

Round 1

Variant: 3-check

Rules: The first player to deliver three checks or checkmate the opponent wins.

Format: Best-of-3 match with a 3|2-time control. Negotiate with your opponent here, and the results thread will be posted soon. Here is the information you need to know before negotiating:

  • Consider and post ALL of the time periods you will be able to play.
  • (optional) Convert time periods to UTC time zone- Here is the link to the practical tool.
  • When a time agreement is set, you have 30 minutes from the specific agreed time to show up for the game.
  • When ruling on forfeits, I will consider the player's willingness to get the game, as well as proactiveness.

How to challenge:

Type the name of your opponent inside the highlighted box. It will autocomplete if they are on your friend's list.

You could also challenge through live chess. However, the tournament is meant to be played in the variants website, so I won't provide information on that.

Rematch: To rematch your opponent, click the rematch button on the bottom of your screen. You can also challenge them again.

Pairings: @WolfKid18 vs. @syguy5

@PrinceUSA vs. @ericyancovid

@kingsindianattack7 vs. @angryspacevoid

@LucidDreams999 vs. @SPickwick

@graysandwich vs. @ChessDude009

@shadowarcher28 vs. @AustinL0926

You have until March 25th to get your game in and post in the results thread. Good luck!
