I didn't realize that chess dot com would remove links from the message.

Siege Chess

Weird, I registered siege chess dot com a few weeks ago to make a different type of chess variant. (it's still a work in progress, not functional).

You actually got siegechess dot com? When I tried to check that one in the past it said it was taken already, like months ago.

We should absolutely play some time! I just updated the game a bit based on some feedback a friend gave me.
The bot is still quite terrible at the game, so playing against a player is preferred atm.
I'll add a chat to the game at some point too.

I must have got lucky then. It was available/unregistered the first time I checked.

Well, if you ever want to play my version feel free to DM me lol. Maybe I can play yours when it comes out too. It might get confusing with two sites with basically the same name though.
I made a chess-like game that I called Siege Chess (I am gonna hope this ain't trademarked by anyone). Its kinda a variant chess, but also kinda its own game - I can't really tell.
I hosted the game on the following website here: https://siegechess net
Some brief details about the game:
- Board size can be whatever the host player decides
- There are mountains which are placed randomly as obstacles. (Host can set the number)
- Setup involves players taking turns placing a fortress, their king, and then choosing their starting pieces.
During gameplay, players get one gold at the start of their turn, and can either move or spawn a new piece with their gold. Win conditions involve checkmating the king like normal chess, but you can also checkmate the fortress if you threaten it with three pieces and your opponent cannot resolve that condition. The player doesn't generate any gold if their fort is under threat, and they cannot spawn pieces if their king is under threat.
The game has all of the basic chess pieces, ontop of many variant pieces I made as well. You can see a description of the pieces on the website.
There is a bot player you can play against if you want to as well...but I am not great at coding by any means so the bot at all difficulties is prone to making poor decisions.
That is pretty much it. I am hoping to find someone to play the game with - my typical friend group doesn't find chess that interesting, so if anyone wants to play or has questions - feel free to DM me, or reply to this post with any feedback. The website is a bit janky in places, so I have to improve some things still.
Thanks for reading! I look forward to playing this game with people!
