Taikyoku Shogi is the largest Shogi variant.

Here's a picture of a real set (from reddit):

I created a digital board:

Is this game playable?

Some people say that this is not playable but I disagree (maybe that's because I'm having holiday at the moment). In my opinion, most shogi variants are boringly small, this is where the fun starts!

How do the pieces move?

I don't know either, but the key rule - which I am adding for this occasion - is:
If you check on wikipedia how a piece moves, you must move that piece!
(This reminds me of a similar rule that is sometimes used for scrabble!)

How do we play?

Post here describing what you want to move, and where it moves to. Use your own plain English if you don't know the real name, as long as it's clear to me.

The winner of the game will receive a copy of "100 Taikyoku endgames you must know" (if in stock).
