Bird's Chess is Trice's Chess with the Q and C switching places. It leaves the pawn in the c-column unprotected. If white plays 1. Cc3 then black has to defend with Nc6 or c6 or Cc6 which forces less variety in play defeating the purpose of expanding the board. I never learned Carrera chess.
Trice's Chess

A very interesting game where black throws pieces at white to try for a checkmate that is easy enough to see coming. The question is, what can white do about it? Notice the subtle pawn move near the end by white which takes away the last square the black king could reach, then, bang! Queen sack for the win.

So who wants a game? Invite me. I'm finally on Green Chess. I'm playing 2 games of Janus and I'd like to play this variant now.
In Janus I open the Janus diagonals first. Most people play the "classical" 1. d4 in Trice's.
