There is a queen piece with a number 1 on it. What does that mean?

You mean the one point Queen(D)?

As AALIDAR said, it is a 1-point queen, and it moves the same way a normal queen does, but is only worth 1 point. The reason why this piece exists is because 4-Player Chess is often a game of points, and this is the standard promotion piece in those games so that the pawn (which can easily promote) does not gain point value from promoting.

Visually marking a real queen and a fake queen is not a bad idea. And should be introduced in Crazyhouse and Bughouse. A good example is if you can capture two queens and you take the fake one and only get a pawn in your hand instead of a queen which can be fatal to the outcome of the unfolding game.

The Pawn Wealthy Queen in a D notation is an 1-point queen.

It’s called 1-point queen. It’s just a regular queen but worth 1 point

It's a 1-point queen. It moves like a queen, but worth 1 point

It is called the 1 point queen, it's just a regular queen but just worth 1 point.

Dude, the same answer was already given 2 years ago, when the question was asked.

Why are old forums getting revived

why does it not count as 1 point in setup chess

Avatar of Fet
Because in setup chess points are only needed when setting up the board therefore there are no promoted pieces with points. And, if queens were worth 1 point in setup chess, imagine how everyone would pack the board full of queens, it's be just very-very underpriced.

normal queens would still cost 9 points but if you make a custom one with 1-point queens they for some reason cost 9 points

#10, if that’s true, then if I were you, I would have deleted this forum already or locked it
