When will live chess variants come to the iOS app?

The question is in the title. I remember checking over a year ago and found a thread from four years ago with the same question. I remember a staff member saying something like ‘soon’ or ‘we are working on it’. Any updates on this recently or is it no longer under development?

And before anybody says that you can play variants through the iOS app by indirectly loading the webpage for live chess variants within the app, that’s not what I’m asking for; the webpage for live chess variants is bugged to hell through the iOS app in a way that makes playing this way excruciating.
