I am also eager to know the answer of the same question, there definitely should be hostage chess variant. It Is actually far better than crazyhouse, for example.

Just don’t play if you complain about it and play regular games(chess is a variant)

I find it kind of strange for chess.com to have many different variations of chess, yet not have the hostage chess variation.
