this is a variant my friend taught me in which there are two boards next to each other and two sets of board pieces.you put a king on each board and other pieces wherever on first two ranks with pawns on second.Basically chess 960 with two boards and checkmating each king to win and you can also move pieces from one board to another.do you guys think this is good variant,i think it is and fun too.

did not realize that you posted that first but there are differences such as in mine i have to checkmate both to win.

I experimented with different starting positions. rnbbnrqkkqrnbbnr looks balanced enough

although rnbrnbqkkqbnrbnr looks good too. there are no vulnerabilities in the pawn formation in either case.
