The version on ICC, which is also implemented in WinBoard, would not blast away any Pawns.
I think the majority knows this. If you capture a pawn on b2 on the beginning, the rook, knight, bishop and the 2 pawns on c and a would explode.The piece who captures that would explode, too. Check google if that's too difficult to understand.
