I have your j-rook moving to g1. If you meant the other let me know and I'll fix the board. (Either way I play ...Qg8).

By the way, is promoting to a witch possible?

vickalan

Yes, pawns can promote to a witch. That rule was clarified a few games ago where it's specified that they can promote to the 4 normal pieces (knight, bishop, rook, queen) and also guard and witch. Another rule is that pawns can promote to any of the pieces even if none have been captured (for example with 3 promotions a player can have 1+3 = 4 queens).tongue.png

Nice work, either I was inaccurate, or your plan has been good. This game I think has gone to very near equality. Not good for me.sad.png

Thanks!  It was a combination of plan and inaccuracy.  That's just payback for the hung knight.  wink.png

For some reason, the guard is my favorite piece, despite the fact it has done practically nothing.  I love playing K+p endgames, so the guard moving like the king may be why.

vickalan

The guard goes well with the witch I think - it's just a simple piece so things don't get ridiculously complicated. Agree: K and pawns and simple pieces are enough.happy.png
