Only someone who really loves chess would want to divide one game into two.
I'm with you. This is slow time-control, so we have calculation time.
This thread stays as "Game 2" and is "1...d6"
I'll start a thread tomorrow "Game 3" and it will be "1...Gr (l8) - (i5)"
(Game 2) The position after Black's move is below. Anyone on White should send me ideas today, and I'll probably play our move tonight (1/2 a day from now).
Thanks smurfisme. I think we will play our move for game three tomorrow. Here is our move for this game:
3. g4
Ok, great! What side do you want? I'm white and I'm getting help from Mayapira. Other team members have joined too (see flags above). Just let me know what color you want.
Format: team competition by correspondence.
1) 1.5 - 4 days per move.
2) Each side has a leader. He/she declares their side's move.
3) Each side is allowed to discuss as much or as little as they want before making move. Discussion can be public (on the thread) or in private.
4) A team can have any number of members, and members can join or quit anytime. Once someone provides help to one side, they are listed on that team and can't help the other.
5) If one side gets behind, members lose interest, and a move not declared (after a warning) within the 4 day limit - they lose by forfeit.
Rules (modified "Chess on an Infinite Plane"):
The Pieces:
Black and White each have the following pieces (quantity and name)
1 king
1 queen
2 griffons
2 rooks
2 bishops
2 knights
2 guards
2 falcons
24 pawns
All pieces move as in classical chess, with the "extra" pieces moving as follows:
Important: the Hawk is not in this game but is a "component" of other pieces. The hawk leaps exactly 2 or 3 squares in any orthogonal or diagonal direction. The leaping move means it can jump over other pieces.
Falcon (F) = Bishop + Hawk
Griffin = (Archbishop + Hawk) = (Bishop + Knight + Hawk)
(notation: Gr or Griffon)
Guard - Moves and captures the same as a king but is not affected by check.
(notation: Gu or Guard)
Pawns play the same and promote at the same rank as in classical chess. White pawns promote at rank 8, and black pawns promote at rank 1. Pawns can promote to griffon, falcon, or guard in addition to queen, rook, bishop, or knight. Pawns may capture and be captured en passant with the same rules as in classical chess.
Move diagram for Falcon and Griffon:
Board Setup:

There is no castling.
There is no fifty-move rule. Draws can only occur from stalemate, threefold repetition, agreement, or a proven case of insufficient material to force checkmate.
All other rules are the same as in classical chess.
Teams:
White: Vickalan (leader), team members: Dariuscmk, Mayapira, Smurfisme.
Black: McGoohan (leader), team members: Steelers1863, MarkiplierFan739, HorusTheThird.
Any new players please reply what side you'd like. White will name our first move tomorrow!
