Hello--We have not discussed pawn drop rules in regard to promotions.
May a player drop his pawn on the last rank and immediately promote to anything (except a king)?
May a player drop his pawn on his first rank?

No, drop rules are the same as crazyhouse. I believe I outlined this before somewhere ...

You can't put pawns on the first or eighth ranks.
