Ladies and Gentlemen!
Friends!
Chess players!

Let me introduce a new chess variant called Galaxy.

null

The game is very easy to learn, but more solid than classical chess.
Any computer would collapse and crash.

If you have some questions please ask.
Good Luck!

Since it is 10x10, are you going to submit it for the variant-design contest at the chess-variant forum?

BTW, why do you think a computer would 'collapse and crash' on this? It seems to me this would be pretty easy to play with most configurable chess-variant engines.

I am also not sure what you mean (in the blog) by 'repeating a position with the same order of move'. Is it allowed to repeat a position with a different move, or the same moves in a different order? Is it possible in this game to force a win by perpetually checking in this game?

Hi which rules apply for Guard and Pacha?

Very interesting

Guard moves like King but is a simple piece.

Pasha in addition may move two squares with a jump over first squere.

As European I well understand your fillings but we with BattleChessGN18 and vickalan are promoting the concept of own individual design for every player (the concept of a free interpretation or simply the concept of free chess). And I go tomorrow to next life: a free variation of one basic chess variant for every party of course on mutual agreement of partners (The influence of American jazz).

Computer doesn't know combinatorics.

Instead of "order" better use the cards turm "hand". (The positions are identical but who moves at first one and in second one: whites or blacks? This is something similar to "zugzwang" or "compulsion to move") May be someone can clear this formal paradox.

Yes! It's possible!

So all it means is that you cannot repeat the same board position with the same side to move?

Just for clarity: The position below would be a forced win fo white under these rules in the given way?

1. Rxa6+ Pxa6 (1... Kb8 2. Qd6+ Rc7 3. Qxc7#) 2. Qxa6+ Kb8 3. Rxc8+ Rxc8 4. Qc6+ Ka8 5. Qa6# {because Kb8 would repeat the position after 3... Rxc8}

It seems you are dead wrong about computers; programs that can play this variant without problems already exist. That you vary the initial position is not an issue; virtually all Chess programs allow you to set up arbitrary positions.

The evening of Canterbury Puzzles!

1. Rxa6+ Pxa6 2. Qxa6+ Kb8 3. Rxc8+ Rxc8 4. Qb6+ Ka8 5. Qa6#

or

1. Rxa6+ ba 2. Qxa6+ Kb8 3. Qb6+ Ka8 4. Rxc8+ Rxc8 5. Qa6+ Kb8 6. Qb6#

A computer can easily win a chess Champion, but can any computer win non strong Galaxy player like I.
