But at the top level in 960 they play engine recommended moves in the opening anyway, because they actually understand chess.

In any of your well-informed opinions, does Chess960 in these early days of its existence seem to encourage more frequent use of opening play along the lines of hippo, passive, and/or attempts of more universal opening systems in classical chess?
