Kingsmen Chess Variant

Sort:
TriskelionGames

Hey chess enthusiasts we have a new game for you to try. It does require a special deck but if the game sounds interesting to you, you can back us on kickstarter.

You start the game with only your king on the board in his starting position. Each player also has a deck of 15 cards(one for each piece not including the king) from which they draw a hand of three cards. On their turn each player may take one of three actions:

-Make a normal chess move with a piece on the board. (Special moves don't apply, eg. en passant, castling, promoting.)

-Play a card from your hand to place the corresponding piece on a space adjacent to your king. (You may use this action to block a check. You may also summon both bishops onto the same color.)

-Shuffle any number of cards from your hand back into your deck.

At the end of your turn draw back to a hand of three cards.

Play continues until one player is put into checkmate.

Sounds a lot like 'Raindrop Chess', a commercially available variant where you have to draw cards for placing the pieces...
