My new chess variant

Stunning! I am, oddly, glad I lived long enough to witness genius of this caliber! It's really not a game. In fact, to call it a game is an insult! It has a dorsal fin quality to it, only found in the great oceans of the world. And where chess is moving more towards lasers, this "game" seems to anticipate micro-wave-anti-gravitational-quantum-nano-string-particles, which chess sadly seems to ignore.

I'm only crying because I'm happy, for the first time in my life...

My creation is the ne plus ultra (highpoint) of civilisation as we know it. It is a place where chess-players can escape from this laser-centric society. It is a place indiviudals can hide from their lives. I am only crying because for the first time in my life, some one recognises my genius. Cry

Oh, so you are still suffering from losing that game 3 days ago?

I've seen lots of chess variants over the years but mine surpasses them all. It should even replace chess as we know it altogether. Its not better than chess but is more sophisticated and challenging than normal chess. It is creatively named Ssehc (chess backwards) and offers a whole new dimension to chess.

Ssehc is played on a regular chess board and starts from this position:

All standard chess rules apply, except for castling of course (which I see as cheating )

What do you think of this new game which is clearly more sophisticated and challenging than regular chess.

Feel free to praise my greatness.

Credit for my inspiration goes to creatip who showed how new chess variants can be made.

Before anyone asks, I am considering adding both lasers, phasers and sharks to add new interest.

Any input would be highly appreciated.

This position is totally winning for white since after white Bishop takes on C8, and black bishop recaptures, and white places his bishop on B4, black has to give white at least three tempoes in order to compensate positionally.

Yes. As chess beat me, I must beat chess. Now I seek to replace chess with a game I can actually win at. Also, don't mention "that game", it was horrible. The Austrian opening does not like me

Try Chutes and Ladders.  You might win at that game.

I don't win at chutes and ladders Frown. But I have created a variant called lasers and sharks. Its much more sophisticated and challenging.

I played Chutes and Ladders with my children until I would've been ready for any variation of it. I was so thankful when they outgrew that game.

I have also outgrown sharks and lasers and have moved on to laser-sharks and sonic dolphins. Much more sophisticated

I suggested black pieces on a white board. To me it looks like Yoko was a white supremacist

Or maybe that person's glasses are designed to invert colors. :P

Yigor

Hmm, in the first variant there are only black-squared bishops which, in addition, can eat each other in the initial position, so not good. The second variant is not fully symmetrical.

-YOLO-

very kewl game, gambit13. like the name, ssehc

I am more gifted with naming things than creating generally good chess variants

rooperi

I think I'm gonna invent ppehc....

Emmott

You, sir, are a genius. Congratulations, and may the great game of Ssehc prosper.

Bishops can't eat eachother unless they are cannibal bishops, which is a great idea for a new chess variant.

Unfortunately all creative content in this post is mine unless you pay me the fortune of a trophy or ignore me completely.

Genius is an understatement but Ssehc is going to preceded by my new variant Ssehc 069. Its a variant of a variant which I like to call a tnairav. Its only a matter of time my new variant takes over my old variant

rooperi

OK, I'm ignoring you completely. See?
