Doesn't hallway have a slightly increased draw rate? I mean, less pieces, less space, and less room for blunders!
I would expect a high draw rate, I'd also expect a pawn to be worh more than a point, in the sense a pawn advantage is proably an easy win in most cases.

I'd like to play again, but unfortunately I'm already in several games so don't have time right now.
Not sure, but due to the smaller board, White might have a slight advantage in this game (or a little more than compared to normal chess). It would be fun to play twice and see if you can win from both White and Black.

A trophy to @PixelByPixel for making a very well-designed variant. Stays true to many aspects of normal chess, but the narrow board is a great twist. Mathematically interesting, and a fun game to play!
Don't worry pixel,
the only problem is, if you go to a corner, you'll likely be trapped.
This game is obviously a loss for Black, so I assume Pixel is playing in the hopes I blunder. I give credit to Pixel for his tenacity!
