Obstacle dice chess

In the more conventional form of dice chess, dice are thrown to determine which piece to move. In this version, the opposite is true. A die ( singular form of dice ) is thrown to determine which piece or pawn  is not allowed to move. The outcomes and the corresponding prohibited moves are: 1 pawn , 2 knight, 3 bishop, 4 rook, 5 queen and 6 king.

To start the opening stage smoothly, the first 10 moves are not subject to the throwing of a die. From the eleventh move onwards, the die is thrown  except in the following cases:

1)       When an enemy piece/pawn is en prise, you can take it.

2)        When one of your piece/pawn is under attack, evade, recapture or   capture another enemy piece/pawn if any of these is possible. Alternatively, make any non-capturing move without consulting the die. This is a compesnation for losing the piece/pawn.

3)        When there is a chance to check, just deliver the check without consulting the die. The side under attack can just deal with the check as in a normal chess game: evade, interpose a piece/pawn or take the attacking piece with the king.

4)       When your opponent has a clear mate in 1, you are free to move a piece or pawn or the king to prevent that possibility.

5)    When there are only pawns and kings on the board.

This is only an unpolished version. Advice and comments are welcome.

For every move when the dice rule applies, there is a 5/6 ( 83.3% ) chance that you can really move the chessman you have in mind.

The exclamation mark after each move means that the move can only be made after the throwing of a die.

Here is a game position which is quite suitable for trying out this version of dice chess.

Moon, Benjamin vs. Becerra, Rivero J  / 11th Philadelphia Int/  2017

Black ( to move ) is definitely winning but the key moves are subject to the throw of dice. Play this over with your friend ( with obstacle dice chess rules, of course ) and see if luck favors the weak or the strong this time.
