I alternated. In one game, to(higher rated)p player is black. In the next, top (higher rated) player is white, etc. What color you are is on the diagram. Vick, you're white. Auk is black, and higher rated. In the next game, evert823, the higher rated player is white.
I just realized I might be completely misreading the question. If you mean top as in higher-placed on the diagram, then the 'top' player is white, yes. White is the upper position , and black is the lower. Hopefully that clears everything up. ☺

you can
evert823 can obviously claim the win because unc07 went over the 24 hour warning. But evert seems to accept unc07 coming back to the game.
The rules don't say anything about this. JohnHS is the tournament director, so I will let him decide if the game can go on. Either way is OK with me.
For now, I will withhold posting an update to the tournament bracket.
Btw, I will be travelling from tomorrow to the end of July, so my response here and at my games will be slow. I'm not sure if I will use vacation time yet for any games. If so, I will post it at the game threads.

UPDATE: Tga is playing the Bullcloud opening! Juney is also doing well. I am in a little trouble with Horus after playing an opening bishop move that landed on a different square than I thought it would, but the fight goes on. All fairly interesting games!
