The SER board explained

Sort:

Capablanca-SER-Chess:
An interesting variant of SER-Chess with another starting position:
Instead of the two Queens we play with an Archbishop (B + N) and Chancellor (R + N) of Cpablanca.
I've tried this over 4 hours with a friend, and the games were very exciting.
The Knight features can quickly reach the blue squares and the game becomes fast very dynamic.

Interesting! did you fix the board?

This is the original chessboard of Nikos Lygeros and I bought it here: http://ignitions.eu/nikos-lygeros-puzzles-others/nikos-lygeros-skakieres/%CE%BD%CE%AF%CE%BA%CE%BF%CF%82-%CE%BB%CF%85%CE%B3%CE%B5%CF%81%CF%8C%CF%82-%CF%83%CE%BA%CE%B1%CE%BA%CE%B9%CE%AD%CF%81%CE%B1-ser-112-detail.html

nice!

It would be great if the variant SER CHESS on Jocly could be played online. With the possibility, as with Musketeer Chess, instead of the two queens, to select chess pieces from the Musketeer sets.

I agree with the first part...

I understand that you find the Original SER-Chess-Starting position with the two Queens better. I want to allow the Musketeer-variant only as a voluntary option, with the following rule:

White and Black have to agree on the new Musketeer-pieces to add instead of the two Queens.

First, white chooses among the 10 new pieces or the Queen. If Black agrees he must pick the same black piece. Then it’s his turn to choose among the remaining 9 new pieces or the Queen. White must then pick the same white piece.

If Black does not agree with the white’s piece choice, the default pieces choice will be Queen and Queen, as in the Original SER-Chess-Starting position.

all this sounds exciting and entertaining...but SER chess is made  for education and inteligence purposes. Also it is an excelent trainning field for clasical players...  all this new pieces change completly the game.

I see no fundamental contradiction between entertainment and education. What is wrong when we play SER, for example, instead of the two queens, with an Archbishop (B + N) and Chancellor (R + N) of Capablanca? The symmetry with the two queens is aesthetic, but the tension with two unequal wings is also very instructive and trains the mind.

nothing is wrong,it is a nice idea and you can do what ever you want with your friends on the chessboard, but in public, chess players must know that they can work with new positions and studys according to classical chess.

Okay my friend, I understand your point of view. And you're right, if you only take the FIDE chess variant as a reference point. SER chess is ambitious enough and additional complications are not necessary, except someone like me has fun at such experiments ... ;-)

And a cheaper solution first, with an Excel table itself created and printed on paper, but it is not a permanent solution. That is why I bought the wooden checkerboard, it is of excellent quality and makes great pleasure to Play.phpfDhF0b.jpeg
