Tournament starting position the same?

Is the tournament starting position the same for all games of the same round? I joined a 960 tournament to play 960 for the first time and noticed that I constantly play with this starting position:

Yes all games have the same starting position. I have never played a 960 tourney on here but all rounds may also be the same position.

I started playing 960 for weird opening positions, not the same stuff each game. When I advance to the next round I will have to study the best openings played? That defeats the purpose of 960

I think that decision was to find out who is best in that position and eliminated the possibility that one side might have an advantage as a certain color in a perticular starting position. 

I know I have seen posts requesting different positions in events before.
