Who wants to help testing Economy Chess v2 (+Economy Chess960)?

A new version of Economy Chess is on its way and the first new version with many new features added is available!

However, this also requires alot of testing to find all the bugs, issues and glitches. To make the new version as good as possible we need to find them all. To do this I need people to go monkeytesting.

Monkeytesting = clicking around in the game to see what doesnt work as expected. Knowledge of programming is not nescessary at all. If you want to help send me a message with your e-mailaddress. I will e-mail the game + instructions. At the end of december/first week of january I want to send all the findings to the programmer.

How much time will it cost you?

That's up to you. Even 1 or 2 hours of clicking and reporting would be great!

What's in it for you?

- The more we test, the better the game will be!
- You have a sneak preview to the game.
- You will be mentioned in the "special thanks to"-section of the game as a tester.

To do good testing a couple things are needed:

- click with a goal, and try to test every possible situation that has to do with that goal.
Dont click completely random. If you want to know if castling works as it should then try to castle to both sides. Castle with option A on to both sides. Castle with option B on to both sides. Do the same thing when the king is under check. Do the same thing when the king has been under check before. Etc.

- document what you have done
In order to fix a bug it has to be reproduced. So you'll have to write down in a document what you have been doing prior to the error/bug. Making screenshots to show what what you mean helps alot!

i.e.: I started a chess960 game with option A and B on. I moved: 1.e4 e5 2.Nb3 Nb6. I then saved the game and loaded but the position was different from what I saved. (if something like this happens, try to find out if the same thing happens with different moves. or with option A off and B on. Or A on and B off- etc. Try to test the same situation in different ways to find out what exactly causes the problem)

I will send you a document along with the game to fill in any bugs. You can also see what has been tested already, and what needs extra attention, in this thread: http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/-----economy-chess-v2-test-forum

Here's a list of things that you could focus on:

Things that need testing:

- Play around with the UNDO button.
Try to write down which moves you make in the bugreport. When do you get an error message?

- Does the NOTATION work properly?
There are some exceptional situations in chess that require special notation: castling, multiple piece capture. Is the notation displayed correct? When you export the moves does it show notation correct?

- Saving and Loading seems buggy.
Try to save various positions in various ways: does it save promoted pawns? castling on/off? Does it save income etc correctly?

- Play around in the Chess960 using various settings
Do you get errors? Are things not working?
