XiangQi ( Chinese Chess ) in China

Up to 2013, there are 32 GMs and 21 WGMs. Here are three of the regulations regarding the granting of this title:

•  The winner of a national individual championship.

• Winning a top three spot in a national individual championship two  times in three years.

• Getting two grandmaster norms ( usually 77%) in 4 years.

Guangdong( province ) : 14 , Beijing: 14, Shanghai: 8 ,

Jiangsu ( province)  : 8

 Active players on the internet: 1.08 million

 Registered players: 382 ( up to Feb 2014). Only registered players can take part in some professional tournaments as well as the Xiangqi League ( 14 teams ) .
