Suggestion: Make it less then 24 hours. Some people don't want to stay up all night just to play chess.

The point is to allow all to qualify. You only need to be top 8 in your division to be in the knockout. Which should be around 10 points for the hardest divisions
can I play or am I too high rated?

Nope. You can play in the open and the division for your rating. It will be blitz.
You need to qualify for the divided rating division but not the open one

We might go with the Birthday Arena being the tournament for the qualifiers event
