I hate to lose. But I have learned to pay little attention emotionally, instead I take the time to see where I messed up. I blundered my Q today. I haven't done that in a long time. I thought it was protected, but didn't verify.
Chess movement up is slow for me, senior. I have to study and restudy my openings. But I end up unable to decide my second or third move in the opening I play. I asked my doctor about memory drugs. He said if I am playing chess and poker, I don't need it.
That's why I play, I want to keep my mind sharp as possible.

I find this helpful
The main way to improve your chess gaming is to focus on your previous performance. If you master your previous performance you can adjust to your current playing, thus reducing your mistakes and mastering not every blunder but few blunders you make. For beginners it's always the opening and middle game.
It's true all amateurs can see what these masters see but with the little they see, avoiding blunders and bad openings is the main priority for beginners
