I'm impressed by how ill-conceived this is for a "championship".
One day of qualifiers is pretty absurd, especially on a weekday. If you have gainful employment and are in the wrong time zone, you're pretty much automatically out.
Arenas are pretty much the worst tournament format for qualifiers. Swiss or elimination are much more reasonable because they don't depend on simply playing the most games - you have to actually consistently beat opponents to qualify in those formats.
I hope you have managed to fix your repetition draw bug before the finals. It was a factor in last year's finals where a game incorrectly ended in a draw and the player who was in the winning position ended up losing a 4-game match 2.5-1.5 where a correctly assessed game would have resulted in a 2-2 tie and the match would have gone to tiebreakers. I was pretty shocked but not entirely surprised that you let the incorrect enforcement of the rules of the game stand. Insisting upon fair play without knowing the rules is patently absurd.
hey @chess.com, don't you see the problem that you organize arena qualifier, which works in way, one player A can play other B ten times in a row? Don't you think that's a little bit broken?
It affected multiple arenas, 1st was clearly won because opponent of winner immediately resigned 4 times.
In others there were strong players stuck playing together, which obviously lasted abnormally long.

Another reason arenas don't make sense for serious tournaments.

Well set arena is fine for qualifier where you want to allow everyone have a chance and yet, not have days of playing. But you need enough length to time control and you need algorithm that prevents any type abusive pairings. There is a site who does it well enough.
Why is it on the variants server
