a vacation option that does not stop u from timing out? wad is the point of the vacation option then?
A prime example of why a "no vacation option" would be good.

I think he just means for tournaments. Although it sounds good theoretically, it would probably be a database nightmare.
The reason I would have a "vacationless game" option is because its the simplest way to accomplish a goal. Tournaments, and even standard games can take ages to finish with vacation time on. If you don't want to wait for opponents that go on vacation, here are two solutions I can think of.
- Make it so you can "Toggle" vacation time on and off, limit games to people that only have their vacation time off.
or...
- Invent a "Vacationless games" feature that make it so vacation time will NOT stop your clock from running down.
Both accomplish the same goal, but I chose the latter for a very specific reason. What happens if you have vacation time turned off, then you join a game with another opponent that has it turned off, and then you decide you want to turn it on again? Its easy to imagine scenerios where this system would be unintuitive.
The problems with my solution is that I therorize it would take much more work to impliment then the former (you would have some games paused, some games not, it seems like it would be a nightmare to program), and somebody thats confused might accidently time out.
Just look at this bickering

Wouldn't adding an option that made it so vacations did not stop you from timing out avoid such problems in the future? I can sympathize with Robik (although I wouldn't want to join a no vacations tourney), but I'm sure no staff member wants to get into the middle of this.
