No one else has mentioned being able to enter multiple lines in conditional moves. This is very handy. Sometimes I'll have forced mate, but their king has 2 or 3 escape options before leading to mate. I just enter all the lines into the conditional moves and then forget about the game, mate is on the way automatically. It's useful in non-mating situations too. I like seeing my personal stats. Tactics trainer is good, and the discount on mentor. Long story short, it's 1000% worth it.
A question for the premium members

What's this about a mobile chess.com app?!
I just became a member to get the gold star next to my name because I secretly have self worth issues, which I guess, isn't so secret now ;)

The tactics trainer and mentor are great!
I also enjoy watching my rating tumble on the stats page...

I enjoy all the tournaments and the gaames explorer and I really enjoy not having the Ads, though I perfectly undeersand needing to have the ads for free memberships.

I did it for auto-timeout protection and to get rid of the ads but as others said there are so many other reasons to do it. In my opinion this is by far the best chess site on the web in terms of the features offered and the community.
In fact they revoked my paying membership and kicked me off of Gameknot because once I found this site I was constantly telling my friends over there how great chess.com was. Somehow the dictatorship over there caught wind of it and gave me the boot. Oh well it really wasn't much of a loss for me I haven't even thought about going back.

Yes, I also got kicked off of that site with no prior warning, or reason. It just said "rules violation", and that was it. And don't even try messaging them about it, no chance. The same thing happened to my friend. Chess.com rules, and not just because it doesn't feel like the Nazi government of Germany.

of course you did :) they can't be happy. what is funny is that 3 years ago i tried to work with them and they basically told me that "chess.com" as a name didn't have any value. funny!

I would like to be premium member but I don't have Visa or Master Card. Is their another possibility for paying?

This kind of thing is what I love about this website and why I enjoy supporting it with a Premium Account.
Besides that, I've had the most use for the time-out protection and the game explorer, and most of all the ability to have more than one conditional line.

Ha! Way to go! chess.com as a name is so simple yet so effective. I'm sure lots of people have discovered the site through just typing chess.com looking for a chess site into their browser to see what would come up. Boo gameknot!

The auto vacation is so convenient! Also, I've improved a lot from using the game explorer, and frequent computer analysis.
Like a song, that seems to have been written just for you.A story book that speaks just to you. A place in time that calls out your name, Chess.com can be all these things and more. But besides all that you will play Chess with some of the best chess players in the world.

Well AtomicChicken it feels better knowing I'm not the only one exiled from Gameknot. lol Coming from there to here it's now easy to see how bad that site actually was.
Erik it doesn't surprise me at all that they would have acted that way towards you, that is the sort of smug attitude they treat everyone with. That is HILAROUS about the current site traffic comparison, you are thrashing them and as word of this site continues to get out the numbers won't even be close. Now I know if it were me and my immaturity I'd be emailing them the traffic comparisons about every week to rub it in but I'm guessing you have a bit more self-control. Seriously though I think you should gloat in their face every chance you get, congrats on knocking them off of their high horse!
