agreed. Although on a side note I would say you should not be supposed to draw arrows in online chess, as youre not allowed in real chess. But ofc we all do it online including hikaru so it has become normal
[SOLVED] An "Only drag to move"-option?
yes please. give us the option to disable "move by clicking". i, like many others apparently (including several streamers i've noticed) do this by accident, so it's surprising why complaints haven't gotten the attention of the devs. it's possible to choose one of the movement methods in "that other chess website"
also, why do people bother to question complaints and feature requests with these weird arguments?
for example, "why do you draw arrows are you a streamer?" seriously? does it matter?
or, "you shouldn't be able to draw arrows" and "it's not like real chess". why bother? at least make separate thread if you want to complain about online chess and how it's not a physical board like "real chess".
anyway, would be nice to be able to turn off one movement type instead of having both at the same time.

I also used "Help->Make a Suggestion" to try to get the company's attention. They really should at least comment and say something. Ignoring the thread, makes me think they don't care about their customers.

I asked the question of why someone did drew arrows while playing because I didn't understand why someone would do it. I guess I understand better but I am not sure that implementing the idea is as simple as people think.
The developers don't often respond because the developers don't often read the forum. If they did read them and dared to respond, they would have to spend half their work hours reading and responding to half-baked ideas from people who don't know much about this site's architecture and listening to constant threats to cancel or to stop thinking about subscribing from customers.
I am not saying that this particular idea is bad. I am just asking you to consider that they have had other priorities over the last year.
It is hard enough keeping the site stable.
The site continues to improve and add new features. It tries to manage the blessings and headaches of success. It offers a very good product for little money.
They do seek out ideas and feedback from customers but it is very difficult to keep up with the volume of demands and ideas from millions of customers.

Request for only drag to move option has been there from 2013. That's eight years to add a simple option and yet they don't care

I'll assume it's true that it has been requested since 2013 but it could be that they looked at it and rejected it for some reason. You can't rightly conclude that they don't care just because they wouldn't give you what you wanted.

So from all this you would conclude that they do care? If they did care they would add the option, or respond a reason why it's not going to be added like any other decent service provider

Anyone can explain why in the settings there's actually a "drag only" flag but it's uneffective?
What that option is intended for?
Thanks
It determines how the pieces react to the click.

I also would like to have this option. Just ran into the same issue of accidently making a not intended move because of the click-movement.
Also despite the explenation of Martin Stah, I don't get the "Move Method" option. For me there is no change.

i have the exact same issue .... and was looking how to find the option on the internet and landed here
Is there any reason why this option should not be available which i am unaware of?

I was +9 in an easily winnable game, but lost a rook and knight because of 2 missclicks and eventually lost on time.

Also in support of this. I have only recently started playing on here and it's such an annoying "feature" that it almost makes me want to quit entirely.

I recently had an online classical tournament, and misclicked and blundered mate in one and also misclicked c6 in the french advance.
