The best is yet to come when Magnus has to defend his title!
Anand vs Carlsen: World Championship match thread

Would be a good thing and really establish that Magnus Carlsen is really the best chess player in the world today. Yes, give Vishy Anand one more chance! If he loses again, then he should retire from competitive chess!

If Carlsen isn't already established as the best player in the world, I don't think beating Anand again would establish it more than beating Aronian would.

Fixed for you.

Misrepresentation! I did not say that! Very wrong to invent words and attribute those words to me! Very childish to behave that way in this forum thread! Should be ashamed of yourself! Apology is in order. Behave yourself in the future! This is NOT a fun thread nor is it an off topic thread! You are out of line! Your behavior will be duly reported to the administrators of Chess.com!

I would have thought the humourous intent was obvious, especially since the modified part was in bold and the original text two posts above. But please report me, the mods need a good laugh now and then.

The "dark horse" candidate to watch is the current Russian Champion Peter Svidler. He is 37 years old and has been Russia's Champion 7 times. In May, 2013 his peak rating was 2769 and his current rating is 2758 as of February, 2014. Svidler has already been chosen by the FIDE to participate in the 2014 Candidates Tournament. Definitely could be the challenger for the WC.
are you some kind of Comedian?

No, I am not a comedian but I do have an open mind and know that just about anything can happen at the Candidates Tournament! Who do YOU believe will win this tournament and go on to challenge Magnus?

well it's pretty obvious to anyone who knows anything about it, that it should be Aronian. Anand is history.
