I don't think chess.com will accept, because Antarctica is not a country not an autonomous territory or demanding independence or some autonomous status.

It does not have a government of any type. Consequently, it does not have citizens. It's an international territory protected by the Antarctica Treaty (1959), that forbid economic exploration, military operations and preserve the land for scientific research until 2041, date established in 1991.

What do people do down there?

This would be a cool feature, but is not a needed feature. I still hope it happens, though

Antarctica does not have a flag because it's not a country.

The way global warming is going we should be grateful of an Antarctica option.

I used to work there. McMurdo Station, on Ross Island. So people live there, even though they are transient....

There's no Covid 19 there either, probably because the people are so iceolated.

They do scientific research that is internationally shared.

And fight shape-shifting aliens during breaks.

No, but it's where Hitler escaped to in a submarine just before the war ended!

according to google, around 4,400 people live in antarctica in summer. but in winter, around 1,100 people live there.

Antarctica does not have an official flag as it is not a nation and does not have its own government.
