What is the best resource on chess.com to learn openings? Best book?
That's an interesting question. I haven't browsed on chess.com too much in regards to lessons or books. But there might be some good stuff on here.

would you recommend buying a chessly membership? it has not only opening courses but also middlegame and endgames as well which i think makes it better for my general chess improvement? i am around 2500 blitz on chess.com and want to be a fide master in the next 2 years
but if im being honest my openings are already sorted so i dont need to learn any new openings... is there a better way to get started on endgames and middlegame study in that case?
Hey, thanks for this opportunity. I wanted ask about translating online play to OTB. I am around 2500+ blitz online, and have predominantly played online chess. While I have played OTB in the past to some degree, it's not really that substantial. In any case, I recently had an OTB tournament and I would say I underperformed relative to my online rating. I also realized that my calculation was more shallow and less efficient, while also being prone to more blunders and oversights. Do you have any tips on training specifically for OTB chess? I have heard tips such as setting up a board to solve exercises from a book, but I'm curious to know what you think. Appreciate your help!
I was just asking that person if he/she was Chinese, because I never saw anyone who was Chinese playing chess.com, so I asked he/she 你是中国人吗?
How to deal with/avoid massive losing streaks? Is it normal for everyone?
Hello failingapbio,
It is normal for everyone. When you gain rating, you'll get stronger opponents and with that it's more likely to happen. Keep going and having fun, you'll bounce back.
I noticed that many 2600-2700+ players have been easier matchups than many 2100-2200 players. Any idea why this may be? I feel like at 2000+, rating and skill don't seem to correlate linearly. Most of the 2400s I know are easy wins, but some 2200s are unbeatable.

The website looks decent enough and not that expensive. I'm not sure I would recommend it because chess.com and lichess also have a lot to offer
but if im being honest my openings are already sorted so i dont need to learn any new openings... is there a better way to get started on endgames and middlegame study in that case?
For Endgames I generally recommend studying 3 books. Silman's Endgame manual, Jesus de la Vila 100 endgames you must know and Dvoretsky's endgame manual. The prior is easiest, while the latter increase in difficulty.
As for middlegames, checking your games and (funnily enough) openings actually helps. By studying openings you get to see a lot of different middlegames positions.

Hello AAYN, The biggest difference is the timecontrol. Blitz is very much different from classical or rapid games over 15 minutes. With that it is very useful to solve difficult puzzles so that you learn how to find correct moves when you have more time on the clock. Apart from that the scene is of course quite different, so playing in venues and tournaments helps you get a feel for OTB games.
My rapid rating has reached 980 something already a few months ago but then it started dropping and not reaching higher stats...Is this saying that I would be stuck in 800 elo forever? 😭😭😭
Keep learning and have fun, you'll bounce back!

That is a pretty strange thing to happen if it's true. It could be that the stronger opponents want to win and therefore take more risks, while the lower opponents are happy with a draw and play more conservatively.
Ok
