Auto-Matching?

Most games I've played have some sort of system that try to match you up with similarly ranked players, is there such a thing on Chess.com  and I'm just not seeing it?

I know i can create a game and put time limit / rating limits on it but that seems a bit... easy to abuse lets say.  Not that I'd abuse it.

A button that just said "automatch" or something similar?

No, nothing like that. Just the limits you can set.

Drats.

Well thanks for replying.

are you talking about live or correspondence?

either way, if you create a seek we do our best to auto-match them. or, like you said, you can choose to accept a seek that fits you.

I guess im' talking about live chess but it would apply to both.   I'm not sure i've seen the word "seek" anywhere.  *looks around*

"My Online Chess", top, right-hand side.

In turn-based, click PLAY -> Online Chess. Then, in the menu on the right (under Play Chess), click on Open Seeks. This will bring up the list of game invitations (IF ANY EXIST) that have been created by other players. ('Open' means 'open to everybody' as opposed to being directed towards a specific opponent.)

In LiveChess, the 2nd tab (labelled SEEKS) displays a set of green dots** representing game invitations you can accept. You can FILTER out the games you don't want.

** Unless you've have the SEEK GRAPH: Show seek graph option unset - in which case it is displayed as a tabulated list.
