Best way to improve Game

Hello Friends,

Due to a recent injury I am currently disabled. So after a 15 year hiatus from chess, I am again passionate about the game and a few minues ago just upgraded to diamond premium level. So here's my question. I am going to put about 6 hours a day playing online and using all the tools on this site to improve my game.  The problem is I am so overwhelmed with all the different types of training available,  I do not know where to start or the  best way to allocate my time.  The last month, all I have been doing is playing online games.   Playing is fun and is getting me back in the groove, but I noticed my playing is not improving, and if it is, very little.  I am ordering one of those roll-up chess mats and large platic pieces because I remember back in the day, I improved the most when I studied the games of the masters and read the logic behind every move they made.   I have about 30 chess books in storage and quite a few of them are from Jeremy Silman who I just noticed is part of this site.  So I enjoy reading a book and playing with actual pieces.  But getting back to all the tools on this site, how would the advanced players on this site break up my 6 hour day to maximize my ability to improve.  I was using the tactics trainer earlier today which I really thought was brilliant and picked up a few basic ideas I never knew.   My blitz rating is an embarrassing 829, down from 929 a week ago, and my 30 minute rating is 1200.   Just wanted to give everyone a snapshot of where I am at.  I turn 52 soon, and might be on disability for life to due a horrific accidentI I was in that included a brain injury.   Thank God did the injury did not  impact my ability to speak, walk or effect my IQ.  My doctors were thrilled when I told them I play chess and said there is nothing better to help with my injury than to use my brain everyday trying to solve problems like on the site Luminosity. Quite frankly, I can not think of anything more enjoyable and challanging than chess to get those neurons firing again.  My other question is, and please do not laugh, but is it possible to get to a rating of 2000 in 1 1/2 to 2 years if I am consistent with my training.  Being out of work, my finaces are limited, so hiring a live chess mentor is currently not an option.  Thanks for taking the time to read this rather long post.  I appreciate everyone's input and I thank you in advance you any advice you can give me.  Blessings.  BobbyD NYC

Thanks for invite to your group. I just accepted invitation.  Obviously you are very selective about number of people you invite because if I read correctly, it was about 60 or so. So I feel a bit honored to have you as a mentor and new friend.  Thanks again and I look forward to playing a game with you soon so you can give me some pointers. I am also going to take a look at chesstempo tomorrow because you are the second person who has mentioned that site. And I just installed chess.com app on my Iphone.  So no more boring times when I am stuck somewhere and have some time on my hands.   I am suprised that many more people didn't respond on the allocation of using 6 hours.  I am still a tad overwhelmed. All my chess books are in storgae except one which I was reading a few minutes ago.   It's called "Winning Chess Tactics" by Yasser Seirawan & Jeremy Silman.  I have all of his books and I am going to take them out of storgae and start reading them.  Plus they have planty of tests with slid answers explaining why the move was correct.  Have a great evening or morning depending on what country you are from.  I wish they would have a chart that you could reference to learn the countries for all the flags. I am terrible with geography.  What country do you live in because your English is excellent?
