Bug, it's says that it's my move, but it's my opponent's move.

Why isn't there a SYSTEM-WIDE NOTIFICATION of this issue to ALL PLAYERS?!?!?

Good question! My opponents probably think they're done with their moves, but my clock is ticking.

It's been a known issue for the Dev Team for hours and no notification was made to players??

That's a sign of complete Amateurs running a site such as this---failing BASIC SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION here.  🤦🤦🤦

Happened to me I reported bug

Avatar of vonkater

I'm having the same problem in some of my games. One game with Leoleo shows it's my move yet I moved and on Leoleo page our game shows it's my move even though I moved. Our other game has the same problem and a few others. This needs to be looked into because it is as though my clock ticks on his turn. It's a three day a move game.

The bug does not allow the move to be remade because I made my move on my side and clicked the check. So, it needs to be fixed.

@JDCannon

@Erik

Guys -- this is an unmitigated disaster for chess.com.  You can handle this better.

  1.  NOTIFY ALL PLAYERS of the situation and ask them to Replay all those moves.
  2.  Get a real TEST system up for update testing before rolling out upgrades, please!!

My game with LeoleoK is acting this way along with others. I made my move yet he thinks I did not because it does not show his turn and it won't allow me to redo my move. It acts like it is my move yet shows my last move. Please fix.

chess.com clearly doesn't care about correspondence chess. Why would they not notify people??? Am I losing games since I don't know it's my turn???

We need some influencers to play correspondence, maybe then they'll focus on it

I can't say for sure, but probably they were busy working through the tickets, and not everyone plays daily.

Not everyone plays daily? Then it's totally okay to break a feature if not everybody uses it. What a great excuse from a chess.com moderator

It is happening to me currently for 3 games and these are daily games. It indicates that it is my move but the game does not show my opponents most recent move. Also, it lists my opponent as myself.... very strange.

I'm having the same problem, did you contact technical support? I hope we don't lose our games

I can say with certainty that this is a very unprofessional way to run such a site, @Martin_Stahl.  There's no way to excuse what they did or how this issue has been handled, so stop trying to put words in their mouths.  That's equally unprofessional.

That is absolutely not what I was saying meh.png

Just that out of all active players, sending a site wide message doesn't make much sense. While it's probably feasible to create a query to just send to anyone with an active daily game, fixings things likely took priority.

I know for a fact, they had a lot of tickets related to issues from the push. And I'm offering my view, just like I always have and always will. surprise.png

I still have this problem.

Some hours ago I had the bug where I was playing against myself, then it was solved and now I have this problem.

Definitely not my day.

Of course I understand they had their hands full to working through the queries. But I don't understand why a site wide message wouldn't "make much sense."

What would be the drawback? Only that those player who are not involved in daily games would get a message which doesn't concern them. That's really not that bad. I for myself don't play any Blitz but If I got a message from Chesscom regarding a bug in Blitz it wouldn't bother me. On the contrary, it'll make a positive impression about Chesscom taking care of problems.

On the other hand, a mass message to all players explaining the issue would include all those playing daily who _were_ affected by the bug. So we had been up to speed and could have checked our current games for moves we may have to redo and how to deal with that issue.

Instead we had to contact or opponents manually to check their games which idea hadn't even been delivered by staff or moderators.
