Are people who are in support of homeschooling but can't due to their country's laws making it illegal, allowed to join?

TyrantTick

Depends....are you?

LeggomyEigo

Homeschooling is illegal in Japan but had I stayed in America, I would have homeschooled.

Estren

Christian homeschooling? You want to make sure your kids get indoctrinated? What about kids learning the diversity and complexity in life, so they'll cope with it as adults?

macer75

Isn't that essentially what education is?

Estren

Here's a guy who homeschooled himself.

macer75

Seriously though... what is "education" to some is called "indoctrination" or "brainwashing" by others. The difference is a subjective judgement of whether what is learned in the process is good or bad.

Estren

I like free thinkers, but this sounds more like an excuse to stay home and smoke weed.

Brainwashing more like.

With Christianity, brainwashing is impossible. A Christian has a belief. As much as I'd like, it's impossible to force my belief on my wife who is Japanese. I could beat her and say believe but she'll hate me in secret, along with me being a horrible person, but she won't believe, also in secret. Christians hope people will see the truth of Christianity but brainwashing a child is wrong. Children are smart and will figure out eventually that they've been lied to.

I've told my daughter my beliefs but I don't force them on her. She knows where I stand but there has not been any, "spare the rod, spoil the child," moments in my house. My wife doesn't believe. I try every day to set a good example that maybe my wife and daughter will believe but utimately it's on them. You cannot through words force anyone to believe anything.

Brainwashing is abuse. People and their parenting styles vary.

Well... that's not what I'm doing, but I see your point. Just because I think the distinction between education and brainwashing is subjective doesn't mean that I don't make my own subjective distinctions. And of course there's also the practical component to the issue of whether or not to receive education (which really makes it not much of an issue).

And here goes the racket.....Homeschooling is NOT brainwashing. Although my family would not have chosen homeschooling back in the UK, in Malaysia we had no choice and we'd never regret it. (And no I'm not a spoilt brat, I did one year in a Malaysian Chinese school which is something like a 1920 British prep school. Except 5x worseTongue Out)

Some people like you may do that, but going to school is an excuse to listen to evolution lies.

Estren

I guess he meant that Christian homeschooling was like brainwashing, not homeschooling in general.

I've never encountered much non-Christian homeschooling before. Therefore I can't speculate on the subject. But Christian Homeschooling is not brainwashing. Actually...you're right. It IS brainwashing!

But maybe not in the way you think....we wash our brains of evolution and the big bangWink

So this is what they brainwashed you to believe? I would assume you will stay at home then, maybe homeschool more kids in the future?

TyrantTick

If you're saying I dont have a social life then you are totally wrong...I've got loads of other homeschoolers that I meet at camps and ESC, and we have access to the best material available.

Whether or not I choose to homeschool my kids (if I have any that is) completely depends on what God wants me to do.

Sooner and later you will have to educate yourself about what they did to you.

@Bilbo,

You are nearly definetly stalking me. Unblock me and face me like a man. Not a brainwashed coward. You're seriously acting stupidly.

I'd love to see that photo. I appologized for not doing my admin responsibilities correctly, yet you never even explained what I did wrong. Therefore since I was a newbie and felt I had done something wrong, I appologized. P.S. Everyone in the CHT already knows about the info anyway. And finally, I'd really like to know what NDsteve said considering he stole MY group.
