Anything that can improve chess skill is beneficial.

Alright, I am going to try this one more time! If you have a low IQ and you accept that as your starting point, that makes you intelligent enough to be self-aware. Some people who sport high IQs love to brag about it. They are being ignorant to the fact that they can still learn more about the world around them. Then again, this would also support the opinion of IQ tests being inaccurate towards some degree. Some people might train their mind or what not to score better on these tests. if that's what you want to be proud of. I feel like engagement is a more valuable skill then intelligence, at least in a community.

(Don't be too objective please, I'm only 15, have some mercy, lol).

How is being arrogant (which is bad, I agree) relates to learning about the world?

Yes, IMO at my level and below learning tactics and spotting them is the most important thing, I've had plenty of games that I lost because of stupid tactical oversights.

Mariners234, so how in the world did you get a rating of 1876? I am actually new to chess and have no idea what I am doing.

So much has to do with the age at which you start playing.

I first learned to play chess at age 31 and was so impressed with myself to be at about 1500 USCF right out of the gate.

Dozens of books and 20 years ter, I have only improved to 1700.

Maybe I am just an idiot.

Some arrogant people are looking at the world from a lens of superiority. The world doesn't owe you anything. It's sort of a character flaw that won't stop you from learning but might impact your relationships with people. I was speaking specifically about people who feel like they are better than everyone else and think that they shouldn't try anymore because they are at the top. Basically, an arrogant person can learn but some arrogant people choose not to.

You imply that you are childish. I am not surprised.

A high-IQ person would be intelligent enough to not brag.

Oh. Of course, I get insulted by some immature adult for stating my opinion. I am not surprised considering the fact that this world is toxic.

Is that seriously all you got? Trying to be the dominating one just because you’re a 50-year-old? You are just like those retarded teachers I had in high school.

I think chess is a language like any other language, it can be learned, some people have a natural capacity and others need to work at it.   Some have a very limited chess vocabulary and others are more articulate and play wonderful creative chess,   There should be no intellectual snobbery attached to it, we are ALL little minnows in the chess pond for sure.

According to the formula for ratio IQ, you have an IQ of 10 assuming that you have the mental age of a 5-year-old. I feel bad for you.

Chess is a game. French is a language. Different things.
