Oh, it's this guy again
Can you beat a titled player?
Yes, I have beaten several IM and FM in over the board classical chess.
I have even beaten a grandmaster in an over the board blitz tournament.

I have beaten several of them. In fact, I prefer them because I find them easier to beat than players who are............
Oh wait..... I thought you said "tilted" players.
Never mind.

I have beating some titled players before.
I haven't won a game against an FM upward. But I have beaten CM and NM.

yes i have! in bullet i beat a fide master. (this guy also had a rating of like 2250+ fide a while back, but i believed he's aged so that's why its dipped a bit)
(the time is 1 min +1 per move) (Im black)
The first 11-12 moves were just theory, then we entered a middle game. Not the best play by both of us, but this is bullet chess. He made a couple fatal mistakes, i capitalised on them, and won the game!

In blitz/bullet? I've beaten too many to count. (And lost to too many to count, too.)
In Classical? The highest I've beaten was a 2400 IM, in a simul.
I do think that, yes, titled players are typically stronger than the rest. They should be, after all.

I've only played one game against a titled player. I randomly got a match against a WCM one day (at the 1700-ish level) and it was pretty equal until I blundered. Don't really know what my answer to this question is or if this is in any way helpful, but I'd like a rematch!
The Chess Elite is in the process of hosting a weekly tournament wherein regular members will be allowed to play against similarly rated titled players for prizes.
We are wondering if the community still supports the notion that titled players are on average significantly stronger compared to the rest.
Have you beaten a master before?
