Can you beat an Alien 👽 at chess

Scientists want to play aliens at chess, what would be your strategy?  

If they could read your mind could you trick them into believing you’re about to move one way but then you move another

I think that would probably work as long as you don't know the other way you're going to move ahead of time.

Anyways, I'd teach them about chess and some openings so the alien at least has a chance, but still play on a physical board because, secretly, I won't tell them about checks and beat them without them even knowing.

Aliens are not that good at chess due to their reliance on AI. They're big time cheaters though. What with their telepathy and implanted AI chip.
