I've decided to do something crazy... I'm gonna drive across Canada for three days and watch some of this thing in person! It isn't very often that such a prestigious event comes to the chess-poor nation of hockey sticks and maple syrup.

Anyone else who is planning to come to Toronto?

As for predictions, I've decided to root for Vaishali and Pragg - it would be wild to see a brother-sister combo as the WC and WWC of chess simultaneously.

My head tells me that Fabi or Nepo is more likely in the Open section. Not sure who has the best shot of the Women's section, as I don't watch quite as much of the ladies.

Humpy has been playing really well lately, so I'll go with Humpy in the Ladies competition, sure.

I expect Pragg, as he did not lose any game in the Tata Steel Masters.
