The box to post something in is simply gone.

I assume you joined that tournament (?). I'm not seeing any problems.

I did, but I think I got moved to another bracket before it started, I'm not on the list of participants (anymore?). I cannot verify it, cause I got eliminated from number 17 by now, so it isn't showing under 'my tournaments' either.

The thing is, I posted earlier in that same thread (see pages 3 and 4 of the thread), and I cannot reply anymore now - which is odd.

Ok, so probably not redesign-related at all....

If you commented before your bracket got changed, but now can't after you got auto-un-joined, I think it's working as advertised: i.e. you can comment in tournaments in which you're registered (whether you've been eliminated or not). Additional complexity seems unwarranted to me.

To do with Sampson56?

I've just gone back to read our conversations back then, i see what you mean now, you were right all along.

LaConseillante

how do you get to today's puzzle?

RyanGarner

Find it in the forums.

It's under the Learn menu at the top of the page. :)

RyanGarner

That too.

Brad_B

Can't find email. Great f**** design. I know its here somewhere, because I didn't get a "cannot deliver" messege

fredm73

suggestions:

when I log in it shows my in-process game(s): it should also show who is to move so I do not have to click to find out.  When I go to my profile it should show me my content (or a link to it) so I can update it easily.  It is not clear to me how I get to my content so as to update it.

knightspawn5

Q Brad_B, your email is right under your avatar on you homepage, it says profile, messages and email.

knightspawn5

@ fredm, click on home, when the next page appears, click on, online chess, when the next page appears, click on current games.  That will show you all the games you are in and whose move it is to make.

DrPhil

@knightspawn5: Interesting, now the crucial info comes to light which previous replies failed to mention over and over again: it's (ONLY!) on your homepage. And not under 'Home' (the menu). As it used to be. Worst design choice ever, had been looking for that for months. And being stonewalled by people saying it's under 'home' didnt help either.

@Brab_B: had the same issue. If your homepage is also something you dont use, the easiest alternative, I kid you not, simply to type the URL: mail.chess.com.

knightspawn5

True, took me time to find it myself when this new design started...  I never found it under home menu either... That's the only place it is, on everyone's homepage....  I believe you about the URL.....

That's way too-complicated. The chess-games being THE most important-feature bar non on the site.

True, but he wanted to see all his games.  Thats the only way I can find so far...

The_Chess_Ninja

how do you find online members on chess.com? (without searching)

netzach

Well used to be you could log-in here immediately see your chess-games & if you have any moves to make, click show-all to do just that, & whilst browsing games you hit back-button to go back to the page you were last at ?

This was so blindingly-simple & convenient that I despair at whoever thought it would be a '' good-idea '' to change all that.

Little wonder i'm finding it difficult to navigate my way round.

I'm fairly sure there are new changes every other day too.

Me too, I wish they'ed put the current games bar back under the games on our homepage ....

I have looked around on the site and searched the forums and can't an answer.

When creating a new online game "seek?" there used to be options for minimum number games played and percentage of games timed out.  I can't find this option when creating a new game now.  I did find the option after I created a new game by editing the game options, but it someone accepts my seek before I can edit the options then I am stuck with the game.

I think this is what you're looking for... Please let me know if I'm wrong!
