Center Game Defence as Black
TBH, just don't go f6, it would be better to take on d4 because if queen takes then you get free development with your knight.

first of all, you generally don't want to move your f pawn that's opening a diagonal to your king. also your occupying the knight's natural developing square

my couch reccomended me to take and then play Qe7 and black is better
BTW Shankland has course on e5 and he covers it

Take d4. Don't waste a pawn move defending it (and weakening your kingside at the same time).
If they follow up with c3, that's the Danish Gambit. You can take again if you know what you're doing, but an easier solution is to give back the pawn with d5, which should equalize. If they take on d5, you can take with your queen, and you don't lose time when they go Nc3 because -- well, they can't. They drawback to playing c2-c3 is that they can't go Nc3.

3...Qe7 is a good move against the Centre Gambit (3.c3). Against the Centre Game (3.Qxd4) it doesn't make sense.

My bad i recommend just Nc6, then Nf6 and when you can play d5 just play it and you're equal
How do I defend against Center Game when I'm playing in the hands of black? One of my games: e4, e5, d4, and for some reason I go f6 to defend the e5 pawn. White takes the pawn on e5 so I take it back but then there is Qh5+. So is their another way to defeat the Center Game instead of the move d4? Any tips?
