I have a question : why is it possible to disable chat ? I know we aren't here for conversation. But saying "hello" BEFORE or AFTER the game (so you don't lose time) is not so hard.

Why is it possible to be impolite ?

I always refuse to play against people who disable chat.

Some people are terrified of the possibility of being insulted by a random stranger on the internet, so they shut off all communication to protect their precious feelings.

Some people have no time to ''chat'' because they are so busy figuring out how to set-up their engine.

Some people need to concentrate completely on the game and don't want to be distracted by someone chatting. They disable chat so as not to hurt your feelings when they have to ignore you.

Some people are simultaneously taming lions and juggling while playing live chess. Therefore they do not have a free hand to chat.

Some very sensitive kids play on this site.An insult really hurts their feelings a lot!They just disable chat so that they don't have to cry after being abused.
