I think that the phrase is a fully accepted idiom that has nothing to do with the potential literal interpretation.

Nah, that's great!
anyone who is cheating is cheating to yourself, if they make themselves to an inflated rating, they are going to drop back down, if they against other people with similar rating.
This is a great web site to learn the game and improve. What's the point of trying to cheat?? If someone will try and cheat they should maybe take all that effort they generate in cheating, redirect it and maybe get a life or something!!!

This website is to play n learn not to cheat and increse your rating and more things...But some people never listen to this and so there account should be close... I don't know what's wrong with this people? Why don't they stop cheating and play honestly? and

That's odd.... I didn't know Republicans even PLAYED chess.....
Personally, Ithink the "analysis board" feature should be removed from this site. In a way it is cheating. In "real" chess you don't get the option to make a series of moves to see if it is going to work out for you or not. In addition you don't learn to think ahead if you use the "analysis board". Just my opinion though.
They just add weight to the argument.
