So me and my friend were playing chess at his house and he checked my king, however I moved my queen into a position after he checked me that caused him to be in checkmate, is that a stalemate or did I win or did he win???

If you did not get your king out of check with your move then it was an illegal move.

Checks are forcing moves and you have to get out of check by capturing the checking piece, placing a piece between the king and the checking piece, or moving the king.

This is what it sounds like to me. Your opponent put you in check. Since you moved your Queen, then you had to either block the check, or capture your opponents piece. If you captured the piece with your Queen and that put your opponent in check where he good not move his King, Block it, or capture your Queen then it is checkmate. However, if you blocked the check with your Queen, checking the King at the same time, then it would be your opponents turn and he good capture your Queen putting you in check again. Checkmate means the King cannot move with being in check. The check cannot be blocked, and the checking piece cannot be captured. So first it is check, and then mate only if the person is unable to get out of it.
