Chess.com Advertisements and Redirects

Why are advertisements sometimes redirecting away from Chess.com's website?

From the home page, it's an irritation. But it happened during a 4PC game the other day.

A week or so ago, it was to McAfee expiration stuff (never had McAfee on my new computer, so obviously it's scareware to be ignored; back button worked). Recently some random website is redirecting to local Honda dealer advertisements (probably scam stuff; intermediary URL removed, so no way to investigate).

Why would a website like Chess.com allow advertisements like this? I understand advertisements generate revenue, but allowing advertisements to highjack and redirect users is unacceptable.

Don't click on adds. Problem solved.

I don't. Hard to click on something if my hands aren't on keyboard or mouse.
