Chess.com Annoyances

You were playing your game and was able to use the analysis tool simultaneously?

Back in the 70s I played correspondence chess with 2 boards. The game on 1, my study of possible developments on the other. I continued this with Chess.com, using the analysis board in setup mode. Since I didn't have a stockfish left bar, I assumed I was ok, and another player said it was. So far Chess.com has said nothing, so I continue. I am very careful not to enter any evaluation mode except that of my own brain (not near equal to Stockfish!)

As far as I know the analysis tool is blocked while you are playing a live game. Never played daily games here but I dont think the analysis tool gets blocked while you play any

This analysis bar has never appeared before, but now the Analysis tool opens up with the bar, and doesn't go away when I click on Setup Position mode. I continue setting up cause I think when it recognizes that position is currently active, it disappears the bar ... except now. I just tried it again from the beginning, same thing. If you're asking how I do this, I have 2 monitors to make it easier to see both screens at once. If you only have 1 monitor, click on Chess.com, load & start a new game. When you want to analyze a position (brain only), open another tab, click on Chess.com and load on the 2nd screen the analysis mode and set up your position. But then you have to go back and forth.

I asked Chess.com to provide a 2nd board for personal analysis, but they haven't responded. I don't use an engine, but I do try out several strategies.

Justbefair,

examples of ads:

1. I click on Forums/Chess.com Annoyances and a 2nd tab opens for Dating Seniors.

2. Click main screen/Lessons/Openings/London Opening, another active tab for Amazon appears.

3. Open an ongoing game, 2nd active tab Futuristic Comfort recliner ad opens also.

4. OPen Forums, choose a remark, select reply/quote - a 2nd tab for Browse Singles ad appears.

I don't think any of those have anything to do with chess. Once off the main screen, almost every click opens another tab in addition to the clicked selection.

To Chess.com, should they read this: I didn't come here to be bothered with stupid ads that have nothing to do with the game. I haven't seen a single ad for Chess.com announcements or promotions. Get rid of the crap at membership level or get rid of me and return the membership fee for the aggravation you cause.

As a premium member, you shouldn't be seeing any of those ads. I haven't seen any ads while I was on Chess.com for years.

Are you running any type of malware screener? Maybe you should be.

What browser are you using?

To MrChatty:

Re using analysis, I do and did NOT use the analysis part. I used the setup position part. After I saw your post I had to hunt a bit to find the Analysis switch you showed. It's in the Play moves section which I never used because I specifically did NOT want to make moves and have them analyzed. I thank you very much for showing me that. Why doesn't Chess.com publish a user manual for us old farts? Nothing is intuitive for me cause I'm old school. And if you look at some of my games, you'll see an engine would never make some of the stupid moves I make. I've been oscillating between ELO 850 - 950 for months, can't seem to break 1000. Does that sound like cheating??

RonaldJosepCote, I'm very senior, but don't want a date with YOU! I'd love to play a game with a nice, sweet young thing, but I'm afraid she'd think I'm too old to lift the pieces!

Does anybody know how to view all your active games when it's not your turn?

Switch to table view and look at the Turn column:

The icon with three dots indicates it is not your turn
